Epilogue December 24, One Year Later Adley met Keru not far from the Great Hall before the Christmas Eve party and greeted him with a kiss. “Merry Christmas Eve.” “Merry Christmas Eve,” said Keru. “You look very handsome tonight, my dear.” “Thank you. You’re fetching, as usual.” Adley was, of course, quite biased on the subject of Keru’s beauty. They were both disinclined to worry much over appearance, but Keru didn’t need to take special care to look good in Adley’s eyes. “It’s a pity there’s no aurora this year. I enjoyed it greatly last Christmas Eve, though the company made it much better than aurora gazing alone.” Adley suggested, “We can still skip out after we eat.” It had worked out splendidly for them the previous year.
