After the moment of sheer insanity that overtook both of us when Matt arrived home had passed, we talked again about my situation at work. He made me promise not to give up until all possibilities were exhausted. I don’t know how they can help me, but I’ll give it a shot. Later on, he called the lawyer from ther firm who takes care of the Ranges's legal issues, and explained my case. He will take a look at it, gather more information and come back in a few days.
Since there was nothing else to do but wait, discussing the topic wouldn't bring anything. Then we put it off until later, pretending the problem didn't exist.
But even hidden, the menace remained in the air and we could feel it. And we wanted to make the most of our time together before it ended.
