Chapter 16: Learning what becoming a parent means

POV DAWN***

    "Mommy Ethan is crying again". I wake up and see my little Ethan grabbing at my sheet. I grab him and pick him up and rest him next to his father, Tyler who is still passed out. "Here go to sleep with daddy I'll be back okay". he nods as he pulls the covers over his head and rests on my pillow. I smile as I walk out of the room and hear Jaxon crying. I open his bedroom door and see him standing holding the rail of the crib. 

"hey shhh shh mommy here's baby what's wrong?" I say as I pick him up. He instantly stops crying and cuddles to my chest. I sigh as I walk towards the rocking chair and sit down. I begin to rock the chair and hum. 

After about 10 minutes of humming he falls fast asleep once again so I place him in the crib and tuck him in with his blankets. I walk into Ethan's room and see his bed empty, I begin to panic until I realize he's in bed with Tyler. I sigh and close the door. 

I walk into the hallway and look at my family portrait we first took when we first came to London. Ethan is smiling like he was given a million dollars. Tyler is kissing my cheek, while I am holding a very happy Ethan. 

I turn around and look at the photos on the other side of the wall, I walk towards the end and see a baby Gabriella throwing a cupcake at Tyler. My eyes widen with my realization that I haven't called Gabby in months and I haven't seen her in over a year. I bolt towards the bedroom and jump on Tyler, I shake him awake. 

"Babe Gabriella we haven't talked to her in months". Tyler's eyes bulge as he pushes me off him and grabs his phone. "Ava hey how's Gabriella doing?" his face saddens.

I run towards him and mouth "Speaker". he nods and puts the phone on speaker. "Gabriella isn't acting like she used to. Honestly she seems like a robot when it comes to emotions". I shake my head. 

"f**k that were coming down today can you get an penthouse ready for us?" I ask as Ava shakes her head. 

"Oh course you guys will be staying with me". I nod as Tyler hangs up the phone. I dash to my computer and book a flight back home for the whole family. "I'll pack for the kids as you start to pack for us". I nod as Tyler bolts down the hallway. 

Have we really forgotten about our baby?

POV GABRIELLA***

"Hey Gabby" my mom says as he comes and hugs me. It's awkward but it felt nice. "Hi mom and dad". 

Ava motions towards the lounge area in the office, "I am gonna go and check up on Alison. I'm sure she needs some help". she nods as she walks outs. 

"Soooo how come you guys decided to come down?" I asked as my mom sighed and my dad shifted uncomfortably. 

"Gabby we think that you are not telling us how you truly feel?" I looked at my mom dumbfounded as I stood up. 

"When did you want me to tell you how I felt, when you called or when I called and you ignored it?" I laughed as I walked towards the door. "Gabriella get your ass back here right now". I turned and saw my mom pointing her finger to the floor. 

"Or what you're going to ground me and take away my phone that you didn't pay for, or my house that you don't own?" I walk towards her.

I walk right up her and look into her eyes. "So tell me mommy what the f**k are you going to do?" my face swung to the right and as my left cheek began to sting. I look right back into her eyes that now hold regret. "Dawn that was uncalled for and Gabriella you cannot talk to us that way" I begin to feel my eyes welled with tears.

"here since you guys are too f*****g stupid to learn what being a parent means" I throw my phone on the couch. I turn away and run out of the office. I grab my keys from my bag as they begin to chase after me. I pass Alison and Ava who are talking in Alison's office. 

I hear Ava call after me as I do what I always do when s**t hits the fan. Run. 

I pass the elevator as it opens and Luca and Angelo walk out to see me bolt past them into the stairwell. I ran down the stairs and bolted for the parking garage. 

I hear security call my name as I enter the garage and get into my car. I throw my bag onto the passenger seat as I burn rubber pulling out of my parking spot. I see the group of people who were running after me standing there near the door to enter the parking garage.

After driving for 25 minutes I pull into my garage. After closing the garage and locking my car I entered the house. I see the guys sitting on the couch talking as Alexis is snuggling up against Thomas's chest. "I thought you were leaving for Boston?" she shrugs. 

"Flight got cancelled because of a storm" I nod as I begin to walk upstairs until I hear my name being called. "Hey Gabby wanna have a drink with us?" I shake my head as I look at Dustin who has his head down avoiding looking at me in the eyes. 

"I can't. I am trying to hide from our parents and Dustin is acting awkward and s**t because we f****d for a while and I caught feelings of my bad". I shook my head and walked up stairs. 

After I enter my room I quickly lock my door and get undressed and hop into the shower. As I feel the water trickle down my body I let my thoughts that keep me up at night invade my crowded mind. 

"Your parents let you stay here because they didn't want you" 

"Max did want you because your overweight and ugly"

"Dustin doesn't want you because youre only good for a f**k"

"Alexis is leaving you because you deserve to be alone"

"Ava and Luca hate you because you ruined their life" 

"you deserve to be alone". 

My thoughts are cut off by my naked body being lifted off the cold wet floor of the shower. I hadn't realized I was on the floor in the shower until I was lifted up.

Max grabs a towel and quickly wraps it around my body as he walks into my closet and grabs my fuzzy PJ pants, along with one of my black tees. He dresses me as I let him because my body is so cold from the shower floor. After dressing me along with socks he put on my body, he picks me up and walks towards the bed. 

He pulls back the covers and places me inside the sheets and comforter. He goes to the door and closes it, he walks towards me and sits on the edge of the bed near the left side of me. "Gabby do you know how long you were in the shower for?" 

I shake my head, "you were in the shower for 3 f*****g hours". I feel my chest tighten as Max begins to yell at me. "When everyone went to bed I decided to check up on you and you didn't answer me and the door was locked so I had to ask Alexis for a key". He stands up and places the key on my night stand. 

"You weren't answering in the shower so I walked in and you were on the floor cuddling your body and you sobbed". I shake my head as I shiver. 

He sighs as he begins to take off his shoes. "Please let me cuddle with you so you can get warm". I shake my head as I shiver "I don't want you t-to hurt me again" he sighs as he hugs me,

"I promise I will never hurt you again. I am so sorry". I nod as he gets into bed with me and wraps his arms around my waist. "By the way I told our parents you're here and that you don't want to be bothered". I nodded. 

"Thank you" I said as my mind drifted to sleep.
