Dream Come True

The whole school was talking about the sudden rendezvous of Mr. Miller inside the school. The news that I just had a conversation with them spread so fast.  I was afraid it might reach Amelia and she would tell our parents about it, but my trembling heart would always stop every time I remembered the good news I had just received. Because my best friend would always be there to remind me.  "Oh my God! I can't believe this is happening to you! Wait, let me see the card!" She grabbed the card out of my hold. I laughed. "Careful!" "MNM Entertainment..." She looked at me teary-eyed. "You made it!" "Thank you," I said, smiling. "I deserve a treat." My eyes widened at her remark. "I am the one who got in, so I should be the one you are treating out!" "Nah-uh. It doesn't work that way." We both laughed and welcomed her parents. They greeted me and I joyfully appreciated all their congratulations. They treated me like their own and that was enough for me. I used to envy Sophia for having a cheery and complete family. That is something that I don't have.  Well, we are complete. But not cheery like I wanted. "When you first get your salary, don't forget about me, okay?" Sophia muttered. I laughed so hard at her serious face. I really can't believe her sometimes. She's just the best. "Don't laugh! I'm serious," she yelled. "I'm not, okay? You're so excited. I'm not even starting yet. And I still don't know what they will give me or offer." "They heard you sing so obviously they wanted you to sing." "That is a win or lose opinion for me." "Well, then, don't think. Even what kind of work they give you, just accept. Hello, brah? Even a janitor would be so happy to be chosen personally to work in the biggest entertainment in the country!" I stared at her with my brow shot up. "You are so obsessed." "Obsess or not, cut it. Emily..." She put her hands on my shoulder and took a deep breath. "You are the chosen one." I pushed her hands off me and I gave her a you-are-so-ridiculous look. "Whatever you are saying. I have to go." "Don't forget everything that I said!" "Tone down your voice Geez, you're embarrassing me." "Just don't you dare forget it all, Emily Williams. You will see!" "Bye! Love you!" I ignored her saying. "Rest your voice, okay?" "Tell your parents I said thank you," I smiled at her. "Do not forget everything-" I left her. At times, it is really hard to understand someone like Sophia. She's loud and sometimes not. She's weird and sometimes weirder. I sighed. I had just got out of the car when I received a text message. Even when I find her annoying and weird. I won't deny that she's the sweetest.  "I'm proud of you! Don't forget everything I've said!" That was her message.  That is the only phrase I needed. Because as soon as I stepped inside the house, I knew then that I'd only be disappointed. I roamed my eyes around our quiet, huge house. No one welcomed me nor greeted me. It's like I didn't even graduate.  I walked towards my room and lay down. Smiling and yelling as well as jumping are the tiresome things I did today. I took the card, Mr. Miller gave me. I am invited to the company. I think I am just going to focus on this one.  I woke up three days after graduation day. The day and time I needed to go to the company was indicated on the calling card, Mr. Miller gave me and it is today. I have already fitted my suit. I did light make-up that is just perfect for my skin. I am only twenty, so I have to make my style and make-up perfectly according to my age.  There was no one in the living room and I think they were all in their rooms or maybe in the office room. I tipped my way out of the house. No one in my family knows that the company called me, so I should be careful.  I rode a taxi to get there. It is one of the most famous companies, so going there is not a hard thing to do if you're only commuting. My mouth circled when I saw the interior of the building. I haven't got here before and I could only see everything on the internet, so it really amazes me. There were a lot of people and staff going back and forth. They are all professionally in suits. I unconsciously fixed my robe and walked towards the aisle where there were three women to assist. "May I help you, Miss?" I smiled and gave her the card. "Mr. Miller gave that to me." "Oh, I see. They are on the twelfth floor." I bowed my head. "Thank you." The first floor was so huge that it was hard for me to even find where the elevators were. I heard a bling not far from me so I turned to it and ran for my life. "Wait, wait, wait!" I screamed. It almost closed but the person inside halted it when they maybe heard me screaming. I sighed heavily. "T-thank you." I was catching my breath when I looked up to...him.  My forehead furrowed when I kind of familiarized him, but I can't remember. I'm sure we've met before. It was a young man, maybe my age or older than me. He's so clean and he... smells nice. "What floor?" he suddenly said. I blinked twice and got back to my senses. "Uh...twelfth." He glanced at me for a second. "Are you part of the meeting?" My brow shot up. Meeting? "Mr. Miller invited me." This time, his forehead furrowed. "The CEO?" "Yes." I nodded. "Is there any Miller here?" I laughed to ease the tension but I stopped when he didn't. "I am a Miller." My eyes slowly widened in shock when I processed what he just said. His features suddenly became clear in my vision. That is why he's so familiar, because he was with Mr. Miller when he talked to me back at school! Wait. He's also a Miller. Does that mean... I covered my mouth in additional surprise. He was looking at me like he was confused and annoyed while I was giving him my total shocked look! He's a Miller and that only means one thing. He is Mr. Miller's son!
