CHAPTER 3 Lucia's POV

I sat in the bed on Saturday morning wondering about everything that had happened between me and Damon.
It felt like a nightmare at first but it later dawned on me that his heart belonged elsewhere.
As I wore my gown and went downstairs,I heard the sound of chariots and horsemen clothed in fine linen who had come from the palace to our home.
I had no idea about the purpose of their visit but I had a worry on my face as I smelt something fishy.
“Lucia….we are going to the palace to see the Alpha”,Dad said hastily without meeting my eyes.
“Dad…what for”,I asked spreading my arms wide open with my eyes in shock
“Why would he want to take me back to the man who broke my heart in pieces?”,I asked myself.
With much hesitation,I was forced onto the chariot by the Alpha guards who accompanied the chariot and led away with my father from our home to the palace.
“You are welcome,Elder Silverveil”,Damon greeted within a few minutes of arriving in the palace.
I had a stern look on my face as I clinched my fists out of anger that drops of blood began to drop.
“Thank you,Elder Silverveil for fulfilling your part of the agreement”,he said as he shook hands with my foster dad exchanging smiles in the process.
“Wait!!! ……What agreement?”,I asked with a voice highly pitched as tears began to flood my eyes.
“No!!..Dad, are you disowning me?”,I asked at the top of my voice as the Alpha guards took hold of me to prevent me from jolting around.
I couldn’t believe he was disowning and giving me away to be with this arrogant male.
“Hmm..From now on Lucia,you are his and will now do his bidding”,he said straight to my face as our eyes met.
“No!!....No!!”I shouted as tears began flowing freely from my eyes seeing my step father abandon me to have my life become more unbearable and miserable.
“Dad….you can’t do this to me”,I said as my face became soaked in tears and sweat as I saw my father bid me farewell and departed from the palace.
As soon as he was gone and the doors of the inner courtroom were shut,my knees plunged to the ground while sobbing with my heartbeat increasing drastically.
I had no one else to come to my aid as barely knew my biological parents or any blood relative,my supposed mate shattered my heart to pieces with his infidelity and now my adopted family has abandoned me to have a miserable life as the Alpha’s slave girl.
While I was still on the floor,I was approached by Shreda who Damon cheated on me with.
“Oh look who is here….The forest peasant”,she said sarcastically with a smirk on her face.
“I am the Alpha’s love never forget that as you carry out your duties within the palace!”,she said while sarcastically poionting her finger at my face.
“Tell Beta Seraphina to show you to your room”,she said hastily before departing to her quarters.
I began wiping the tears of my face as I stood to wander around the palace looking for the Alpha’s Beta.
As I walked I thought about how miserable my life was now that I had lost everything.
A couple of Minutes later,I spotted the 5 foot tall female warrior talking to one of the maids.
“Hmmm..look who we got here It’s Lucia,the Alpha former fianceé”,she said with her eyes open as she was astonished.
“How did you end in the palace after everything that had happened?”,she asked as our eyes met.
“It’s a long story”,I said wiping the tears on my face as my soul became drowned in sadness.
“Or where you disowned by your family and given away to the Alpha?”,she asked enthusiastically.
“Yes I now belong to the Alpha but as a slave worker”,I replied bringing my face down in shame.
“Hmm too bad.Let me show you to your room”,she said as we walked to the East Wing of the Palace.
The rooms for slaves and workers were usually located at the basement of the palace but they did not look that bad.
“Here this is your new room.I hope you will be cormfortable here”,she said stretching her arm inward as she opened the door.
“Thank you”,I said softly turning my head towards her direction but not meeting her gaze.
“Follow me.Let me show you where you will be working”,she said authoritatively as she turned her back and made her way outside the basement of the palace.
“So…this is where you will ne working.You and other workers will be responsible for cooking and washing the dishes”,she said to me when we arrived in the large kitchen minutes later.
“If you have any questions you can ask me anytime we meet”,she said as we locked eyes with each other.
before returning to her duties.
I stood in the kitchen wondering what my life had now become after all that had happened.
I couldn’t believe Damon would abduct me from my foster parents only to make my life more miserable.
Before returning to my room to rest,I was approached by Shreda as she wore a mischievous smile.
“Well…Miss Lucy”,she said sarcastically.
“Even your parents do not want you.Let us see whether you can get the Alpha’s favour or not”,she added.
“What have I done to deserve all this”,I said as tears began dripping down from my eyes once more.
“You will now be the one in charge of the kitchen and cleaning the courtyard”,she said with a fiery look in her eyes.
“And don’t you bother trying to reach out to your parents as it won’t be allowed here”,she added with a dominant smile.
“I hate you ... .I hate you!”I said to her as my tears dried on my face.
“Well….There is nothing you can do about your hate for me”,she said.
“You have no blood relatives in the Kingdom and your own adoptive parents do not even want you”,she added as she brought her face near mine and I looked at her with bitterness in my eyes.
I pulled out my arms and pushed her away from my face so that she almost lost balance.
“How dare you….How dare you touch me!”,she said, looking at me with coldness and sarcasm.
“Well,since you have no respect for those in authority,we shall see how long you will stay in this palace”,she said sarcastically.
“Now, get out of my sight!”,she said in a rather harsh tone.
I slowly lifted myself up and made my way to my room in the basement of the palace.
“How am I going to survive my stay here?”,I asked myself as I lay on my bed to rest.
