I looked back to see but some people started coming in and I have left no choice to go back to my seat. My heart starts beating faster just because of the name. The name I don’t forget until now, but the thing is, did January live in Honfleur before, or did she move away?
I just went back to our seats, still having chills in my body. I don’t know if it’s just a coincidence or not. If it’s not, then why there is someone named the same as her. Did they move out after the incident? Is that the reason they told me that she is gone?
“Mr. Ramoz, do you find something peculiar about the data you’ve gathered in the hospital?” I asked the man who is still busy looking at his black leather notebook.
“The data itself is very odd, and looks suspicious,”
“Did you ever look at it deeper?”
“Yes I do!” he said. “I get some connection to that hospital to give me more information but one thing I know is that it’s planned perfectly that there will be no history of her having memory loss due to an impact from the capturing incident. My mind is empty and my thoughts are blurry, I am just a kid and I didn’t see the real situation as I am as confused as her and scared for our dear lives.
“I also went to the scene if ever there is a house near where it happened, luckily there are houses up onto the location but sadly they don’t know what happened.” He explained. I nodded my head and rest my back on the chair.
Our orders arrived so we stop talking first it may trigger them if ever they know the lady we are talking about. My guts are telling me that they know her but somehow I still need to stay like a traveler.
“Next, I went to the playground where it began, and luckily for me to find out that the stores are that old and they might saw what happened 9 years ago but the thing is no one wants to tell the story,” he said. “It looks like they were paid to shut up.”
“Is that it?” I asked and he nodded his head. I wonder who gave them the thing to shut up about this problem. It can be three people, her family, my family, or the man behind these. I grinned at what I discovered, it's not that much but I’m glad that something is going on.
“Can you still observe those people you said that they might be paid,” I requested.
“For how long?” he asked.
“Until they gave something odd and suspicious and make sure that it was still connected to my case.”
After that, we ate and discussed more of my plan. I didn’t give him the very details but only the main points as long as it will work effectively. I had now a 25% of chance in my process. If ever they have something that leads either to A and to the person behind, I will be glad.

The next morning, Aryn woke up way earlier than before. She thought that her body clock is starting to go different but she still tired as f**k but she forced herself to wake up because she feels shy being sleeping in the other’s home. it’s not really from a stranger but it’s her aunt’s house but
“Hey, babe!” I greeted the girl in my bed.
“Hi- wait-why I am in your bed?”
“You passed out!” I screamed a little. “My goodness, Dem! What are you doing to yourself?”
“I just felt tired and pressured that’s all,”
“Really?” I asked glaring at her. I’m not and never be happy if her body becomes completely exhausted through overworking and ruins her health. I may be playful or childish but when it comes to someone I love I’m getting upset with the things like that and protective.
“What did I tell you before coming here?” I asked. “Didn’t I tell you to just enjoy it?”
“I know. I’m sorry!” she apologized. She looks like she regrets it but I don’t want to make her feel sad while practicing.
“I just don’t want you to look ugly as much as you are now!” I joked to lift her mood.
“How dare say it to your hot and gorgeous babe!” she whined while self-praising herself. The little teasing can make her mood much better than earlier. I am glad that she is a strong woman.
“Oh! Before I forgot it, your coach called me yesterday if where you are and I said you’re in the safe hands,” I remembered the talk I had yesterday. “Also, she postponed the meeting with your sponsor.”
“What!? Can she do that?” she was shocked at what I announced.
“I don’t have any idea about that but it’s your coach we are talking about here,” I said. “Good thing is that your sponsor is patient and considerate.”
“Oh, yes I guess?”
“Why is that?” I asked because of her different reaction. Don’t tell me that she doesn’t know who is the person.
“Well, I never meet them,”
“Oh really! That’s a bit…well, never mind it. It’s all in the past now,”
“How ironic!” she commented.
“I beg your pardon—I’m afraid I didn’t know what you mean?”
“Well, you just told me not to mind it because it’s all in the past now but here you are still minding your past!”
“Excuse me?” I chuckled a bit at how unbelievable she is to catch that. I never intended because mine was different—far different from hers.
“Nah! It’s complicated unlike yours,”
“Fine! Whatever you say!” she said in a teasing manner. I rolled my eyes at her and lightly hit her with a pillow.
A knock from my door echoes the room and the time we stopped hitting each other with a pillow—basically a pillow fight early in the morning. I walked toward my door and when I opened up, I faced Cosette in her PJ’s.
“Mom’s deluxe breakfast is served,” she announced. “Hurry up before our tummies ate all of it.”
“Fine give us a minute we will just wash our face,”
“Yeah! You should go wash that face of yours, you still have eye gunk in your eyes.” She and pointed at my eyes. I sighed as I closed my door because I know what I have in my eyes. I am fully aware of it! I sarcastically thought.
“Dem!” I yelled as I saw her laying with her stomach down at my bed—comfortably.
“Yeah! You go first!” she suggested. I know this trick of hers because I also doing it to her. We going to tell each other to go first so she can take some time to lay on the bed until we will sleep again.
“No! We both should go and wash up!” I said it looks like the table has turned.
“You’ll be childish, Dem! Come on!”
“Aish! Fine, you win!”
“Aww! Dem is mad!” I teased her while she just ignored me and went to the bathroom.
We wash our faces and toothbrush then I realized I only have one toothbrush for my own. I can’t be sharing one toothbrush—it’s disgusting for my dear teeth.
“How is that I’ll be the first one to brush,” I said feeling proud of this useless thing. “Well, you can go without brushing your teeth as long as you will not dare to open your mouth—Aww!”
I screamed as she pinched me from my sides. That hurts so much! It might have bruised right now! I sacredly thought for my sake.
Another knock was heard and this time Dem opened the door for me because I’m busy with my business here.
“Aryn—I mean Ms.?” Cosette asked.
“Ish Dshem,” (It’s Dem) she talks gibberish. I chuckled as I take a look at why she sounded like that and found out she covering her funny mouth.
“I can’t understand—Anyways this is your toothbrush!” she said while handing the new toothbrush to Dem.
“Tank you!” (Thank you!)
“I guess it's thank you, so your welcome!” she said and left.
“Whoa! That’s a pass!”
“Yes but your mouth odor will never be a pass,” I savagely said. “Go now before it stinks bad and pollutes the air more!”
“How—fine!” she was annoyed and marched towards the bathroom. I just ignored her and laugh at how stupid she looked. All of this is just a playful thing to us. We never really offended each other but if we are—which is rare—we give it a time to apologize.
“Holly molly! I’m free from the shitty odor, you b***h!”
“Congratulations! ~ Congratulations! ~” I sang with a mismatched tone but I don’t care as long as I can tease her—that’s what matters the most.
We are all ready to confront the world—the dining rather. We went out of the cocoon and were confronted by the amazing smell of food from the kitchen. I can’t wait to devour it as I remembered that I ate nothing but a glass of water last night.
“I know you girls are hungry so we will catch it up in the breakfast!” her aunt said enthusiastically.
“By the way, if you don’t remember our names—I’m Aunt Melinda and my daughter,”
“Cosette in the building!” she screamed which shocked us at how energetic they are. I can’t still get a hand of their energy but I love and appreciate their effort to make someone comfortable in their home.
“That far too energetic!” she commented and we chuckled.
“Well, as much as I want to forbid her to drink coffee I can’t, it looks like it is her charging station.” She added as she serves the food. Baguette is back at the table with a cup of cereals as we love to drink our coffee from it.
“Whoa! This is a feast not a breakfast anymore!”
“I know right!?” I excitedly agreed to her.
“Ahh! I want to live here!”
“HAHAHA! As much as you want to you have to go back to your hideous hotel room!” I teased her once again. What do you expect to DeNy couple!
“It’s not hideous—it’s luxurious!” she said emphasizing the word. “For your information, it’s what you called hôtel deluxe!”
“Whatever!”
“Stop it girls and let’s eat!” Aunt said. We ate and almost finished the full course breakfast meal. I am not aware that we are wild eaters.
Afterward, I asked if I can borrow my aunt’s car so I can give her a lift because we are not that familiar in terms of transportation. We can always use Waze our ways to the hotel as she needs to change her clothes for her practice in the actual rink. We have successfully borrowed the car and went on our way to the hotel.
“That went smoothly!” I said, surprised by it and to myself also. In no time, I can know and familiarize the roads here and might go for a mini-adventure.
“So what’s up with your interview by the way?” she opened a new topic as we enter the building.
“Not much of an excitement, it’s full of nervousness and a wish to pass the interview,” I said. “I’m waiting for their email, though.”
“I wish you to pass that interview because you did well!”
“How can you know that?”
“You don’t have faith in me?”
“No!” I straight up answer but I know myself it's not true.
“I know it because we have a red string attached to our pinkies, babe!”
“OH! You’re my soulmate? I didn’t know that,”
“Ha.ha.ha. that’s funny!” she responded sarcastically.
I stubbornly replied, “Well, maybe we don’t know!” She just sighed, looking so done with me. A sighed too as I am just here happily enjoying the misery of my life, just kidding!
“Please let me be like this!” I begged. “I didn’t even think of my real intention here!”
I confessed. It’s really like I am procrastinating which is half true, half not but just enjoying my first week here in Paris. Who won’t be happy here? The place is a dream, an art, and a masterpiece and I’m just living on it.
I realized that sometimes there will be someone or something that will make you feel you belong to it and at least help you distract to the reality and intention on why you are there. It will last but still as long as you’re breathing, enjoy life!
