Melissa's POV “What kind of favor are we talking about here? Listen, you have to be fast because my friend is waiting for me, and I want her to come here and meet us,” I said, my voice coming out sharper than I intended. Honestly, I was tired of standing there, tired of the way this whole situation was making me feel like I had walked into something I didn’t fully understand. “Can you please give me a chance to explain myself? I want to tell you my own side of the story. I want us to meet somewhere and talk. Maybe not today, at any time that is convenient for you,” he said, his tone shuddering slightly, like each word cost him something. I paused for a second. “Okay,” I replied.
