Chapter 5: Good-looking

1097 Words
Martin watched as Aimee instantly fell asleep, shook his head, and said nothing, knowing she was truly exhausted. Martin didn't disturb her, instead finding a sturdy stick to use as a weapon for self-defense. The moon shone brightly, and only a few stars dotted the sky. Martin sat quietly under the moonlight, lost in thought. As he watched the waves surge on the sea, Martin fell into deep contemplation. Aimee's words earlier reminded Martin of what they should do next. "Including the time of the incident, it's already been two days. The optimal rescue window has passed, and with the Black Wolf, hoping for rescue might be futile..." Martin sighed and muttered to himself. He shook his head silently. Martin knew that waiting for rescue now was probably hopeless. The optimal rescue window is generally only forty-eight hours. Exceeding this time, especially on the sea, makes the chances of survival almost impossible. Beyond this time, rescuers generally give up the rescue. "Now we can only rely on ourselves!" Martin said to himself again. He had mentally prepared for the worst-case scenario. If there is a rescue, and they can really wait for the rescue team to appear, that would be the best outcome. But if not, they can only rely on themselves to survive. Gradually, Martin's mind began to think about the next plan. Time passed. The sky by the sea gradually turned a pale white. The moon set, the sun rose. In the blink of an eye, it was the second day. The blue water stretched to the horizon. Seagulls gathered in flocks. Waves and sea breeze. The picturesque scenery was enough to make anyone feel relaxed and happy. The scenery here is what many people dream of in their hearts. Perhaps some people usually have beautiful thoughts or wishes to get close to nature, and there's nothing wrong with that. However, if you really live on a deserted island, like here, trying to survive without any food or water sources is definitely a difficult thing. "Martin, wake up!" A high-pitched scream sounded on the sea. Following the sound, it was Aimee. Now Aimee was almost completely soaked in seawater, constantly slapping Martin, who was floating on the sea. "What happened!" Martin heard Aimee's scream, and the originally sleeping Martin was startled. When Martin woke up, he found himself at a loss for words. Now, not only was Aimee almost completely submerged in the seawater, but Martin found himself in the same predicament. "Weren't we on the shore? When did we fall into the sea?" Martin asked, confused and not understanding what had happened. "Shouldn't you be the one answering that? Weren't you keeping watch?" Aimee replied with a hint of sarcasm. "I..." Martin was embarrassed. Martin had indeed been keeping watch last night, and even in the middle of the night, he hadn't woken Aimee. But as dawn approached, Martin couldn't hold on any longer, thinking that since it was already dawn, there shouldn't be any danger, and decided to take a short nap. Little did he know that a short nap would turn into a deep sleep. To their surprise, they woke up to find themselves inexplicably in the seawater. "Splash..." The waves rolled. "The waves are too strong, let's get to shore first!" Martin, swaying in the sea, gathered his thoughts and said seriously to Aimee. The waves were too strong, and getting swept into the deep sea would be dangerous. Aimee also understood the seriousness of the situation and nodded seriously. "Give me your hand, let's stick together; it'll help us stay grounded!" Martin took a deep breath, preparing to swim directly to shore, then reached out to Aimee. The waves were too big, and one person's weight was limited; if they were together, they could reduce the chance of being swept away by the waves. Additionally, Martin was worried about any mishaps happening to Aimee. Aimee hesitated for a moment after hearing Martin's words. However, she eventually extended her hand. Their hands clasped, fingers interlocked tightly. Martin immediately noticed how soft and delicate her hand felt, almost as if it were boneless. This was Martin's first time holding hands with a girl, and it was with the campus belle, his dream girl. In the past, this was only a beautiful imagination, but now it had become reality. Aimee kept her head down, allowing Martin to hold her hand tightly. Aimee's heart was also racing, pounding like a frightened deer. Because this was also her first time holding hands with the opposite s*x, and it was with someone she had known for less than a day. After much effort, Martin and Aimee finally reached the shore. Both of them were now completely soaked. "Phew!" Martin panted heavily, feeling extremely exhausted. Already weakened from lack of food and water, the short swim to shore had only added to his exhaustion. Aimee was in a similar state, her chest rising and falling. However, Aimee's gaze was fixed on her hand, still tightly held by Martin: "Can you let go now?" Aimee's voice was soft, with a hint of gentle reproach. Hearing Aimee's words, Martin realized he was still holding her delicate hand and quickly let go. He awkwardly scratched his head, saying, "It was a special situation just now, so I..." Martin smiled at Aimee, ready to explain, but when his gaze fell on Aimee, he suddenly froze. He felt a warm flush in his face. The words he intended to say stopped abruptly. Aimee looked incredibly alluring at that moment. Or more accurately, he saw a scene not appropriate for children. Aimee was wearing a tight-fitting T-shirt, which, after being soaked by seawater, clung to her body, allowing Martin to clearly see her skin as smooth as jade. Perhaps due to the seawater, her T-shirt had become somewhat disheveled. This left Aimee's ample chest almost completely exposed, right in front of Martin. Although her undergarments provided some cover, it was still a snowy expanse. Which stood in stark contrast to her black undergarment. With Aimee's breath rising and falling, the whiteness seemed on the verge of spilling out. The scene gave Martin a tremendous shock, and the warm flush in his face intensified. "Does it look good?" a voice sounded in Martin's ear. Martin felt a chill, but still caught up in the overwhelming scene, he absentmindedly replied, "Good!" The next moment, Martin felt as if he had been plunged into an ice cellar, shivering as he snapped back to reality. Looking up, he saw Aimee glaring at him with a cold stare.
