THE FIGHT
Among the Greatcoats, for whom duelling in all its forms is as integral as knowledge of the King’s Laws, three were generally acknowledged to be the toughest opponents: Kest Murrowson, Talia Venire, and Falcio val Mond.
Kest was known as the King’s Blade because there was no one alive more skilled with a sword. I’m told he even became the actual Saint of Swords for a while. Kest never much liked me.
Talia, the King’s Spear, had the virtue of complete lunacy and a craving for warfare so deep that should someone manage to one day kill her in battle, she’ll surely rise from the grave the next morning to stab them through the belly out of sheer spite. Talia never much liked me, either.
