Town at the End of the World

Adma wears the clothes that previously owned by Izanagi. A simple white shirt with black pants and leather shoes. He also wears a leather chest plate and armband that protect a portion of his arm. Underneath those clothes are Adma’s actual body, that completely inhuman, and looked more like a machine. While his body proportion looked like a well-built young male, those details will absolutely freak everyone up.

After making sure he looked distinguished from other people, he approached Kiki who still praying on her former team’s gave.

“How does it look?” he asked Kiki for impression, making sure he can blend in on town.

Kiki finishes her pray and turns around to Adma. She smiled and nodding excitedly.

“Let’s go! Adma big-bro!” 

Their next destination is a town of adventurers called Kuliana. Kiki told that this town is located at the far end of the world, literary. The place of the ruin where they meet is located in the forest that becomes some kind of no man’s land, the Kingdom of Horundah, the authority of the whole island themselves find it difficult to expand their territory beyond this massive rainforest. In a place where human activities are very limited, no wonder that new discoveries like ruins and new animals take place.

During the trip, Adma sees for himself how Kiki practiced magic. The first time, he saw her sparking a fire for the camp. Kiki also told Adma, how other magics are used for other functions in society such as farming and raising livestock.

People with better control over their mana are even able to perform ‘miracles’ or contributing to war and serve the royalty. Therefore, the job of an adventurer who took various job and tasks for the masses are very common.

For Adma himself, this trip also useful for him to understand the strength of his body. From Navigator, he knew that his body can take punches from ordinary people, even better, Adma can take care of himself just fine when it comes to battle. From time to time, Adma and Kiki would find themself surrounded by wild carnivorous animals that looked like a wolf, with few punches and kick from Adma, the beast just gave up and ran away into the wild. 

This body also gave Adma an athletic ability. For example, he can shoot down a bird just by throwing a stone accurately. It’s no exaggeration to say that his throws are as strong as gun rifle.

Two and a half-day later, they can see the town of Kuliana at the end of the road. The town is surrounded by tall stone walls which giving a very medieval and fantasy feeling to it. The settlements are build circling around a huge fountain in front of the most majestic building in the town. Adma and Kiki then proceed into the gate of the town where they being inspected by people that looked like a guard. Complete with armor, shield, and spear in their hand.

They see Adma in the eyes, and started to ask some question.

“Halt! We need to confirm your identity before proceeding. Is this your first time in the Town of Kuliana?”

Adma’s translator need a while before interpreting new voices, but no problem whatsoever. “Yes,” he replied.

“What is your name and where are you come from?” 

Now, comes the question which troubled Adma the most.

“Ah, uncle Guard! long time no see!” suddenly, Kiki jumped to the conversation.

“Oh! If it isn’t Kiki! Finally, you are back! Where are Chap and the other?”

“Actually… Something has happened on the mission, Kiki and everyone else get separated away until I met uncle Adma,” she explained while glancing back to Adma. The guard is also looking at him, but his eyes are still showing suspicion.

“He said that he is actually a merchant, and just arrived ashore after some business with sailor at the Far Sea. I promised to guide him to Kuliana, so please Mr. Guard?” asked Kiki. The guard who is familiar with Kiki let out a sigh.

“I guess he is ok if you say so, Kiki. Just… Please tell me if something happened, alright? And you, I believe that you will not making any ruckus inside the town, ok?” threat that guard.

Adma just nod half heartedly, and followed Kiki into the city’s main road.

“Thanks for the assist Kiki, but why don’t you tell the truth about what happened to your teammate?” asked Adma. He kind of feel bad to asked about this.

“Hmmh. Kiki also feels bad for everyone. But Izanagi, Chap, Milanda and Yulia is pretty well-known in this town. To tell the truth to everyone else… Kiki afraid that will worried them,” answered Kiki. 

“I see… So then, where are we going now?” 

“We have to go to the guild master… To report what happened inside the ruin. This time, we have to tell him everything, especially about the Dark Monster,” told Kiki. 

Soon after that they are quickly leaving the main street, to the east side of the town. Over there, they can see on building which is larger than the rest building around it. On the huge board that hanging in front of the entrance, the words ‘Union of Adventurer’ are written in huge letter, while the moto ‘Together Reaching the Stars’ are written at the bottom with smaller font.

Inside the building, is a large hall, with sets of tables and chairs every 5 meters. On one side of the hall, is a huge pinboard that filled almost half of the wall. That pinboard is crowded by various people that look like adventurers. From muscle and burly man with a huge sword or axe, to a slender lady with staff and hoodie. They all are busy talking with their colleagues, some are even arguing about which one is the first to take on a job.

None of them seems to take notice of Kiki and Adma which is halfway inside the hall. Kiki walked into a receptionist counter at the end of a room. Over there, three women are managing both adventurers and task requests all over the guild.

“Um, excuse me?” Kiki walked toward one of the receptionists. At first, the girl seems busy with her paperwork until Kiki caught her attention.

“Oh, Kiki! You’re finally back! Where are Izanagi and the others?” asked the receptionists nicely.

“Um… Miss Kathy, I’m sorry but I need to talk to Mr. Zig right now…”

“Oh… Um… Okay, he is in his room, upstairs.” answer Kathy.

Kiki thanked Kathy quickly, and then they went to the stair, right beside the receptionist’s counter.
