“Save him!”
Ivanna’s body moved in reflexes. She ran to the barrels piled up like a mountain just right beside the shop’s building. Her feet use them as a stepping stone to fly high in the air, and she did.
She jumped so high that she became like a bird flying in the sky.
The knights witnessed it. “How will she save His Majesty? He’s in another place. It's impossible!” One of them cried.
Yet all of a sudden, they heard a shattering sound of glass. As she jumped in the air, she used her fist to punch something in the atmosphere.
The sky where the emperor was falling shattered like broken glass and literal shards of glass flew in the streets, causing some of the knights to get cuts on their faces and bodies.
The cloaked man who was maniacally laughing nonstop turned silent.
“How…just who is she?” He mumbled with eyes wide open. The spell he set up to separate the emperor’s body from reality was destroyed by her.
“Meredith, His Majesty! Save him,” Derethus yelled.
And at the right timing, “I’ve got you.” Lovis was in the arms of Meredith.
She managed to land smoothly on the ground while carrying the emperor, with her knees serving as a support, scraped on the cobbled stone floor at the side of the alley.
Lovis felt cold but he was surprisingly calm to look at. At that time, he was merely showing little emotion.
Even in the face of death, concealing his thoughts was the only thing he could do, to not give what his enemy had wanted. He knew his opponents well.
Ivanna gently let the emperor down on the ground. Derethus and the knights immediately got closer to the emperor, helping him to stand properly.
“Who are these people who dare to hurt His Majesty!” Derethus nearly roared in anger.
Ivanna looked up. She could still see the shard of glass coming from the barrier she broke earlier, falling continuously into the atmosphere. The cloaked man and the one she had taken down at the back door of the boutique, vanished instantly.
“Their days are numbered. Thus, they were desperate to take me down l.”
