Chapter 19 Driven to the Corner

687 Words
Mia is a clever girl, fully understanding what Katherine means. Without thinking about anything else, she obediently assisted with applying the medication. As the medicine touched the wound, Katherine's body shuddered each time. That heartbreaking sight made it impossible not to feel agonizing pity. Mia wished she could bear the pain for her. After contemplating this for a while, she realized that she had been naively optimistic. Eventually, Katherine felt as if her body had become numb, unable to feel the slightest hint of pain. After Mia finished applying the medication, she turned around to make herself something to eat. Just as Mia left, the door was pushed open again. The intruder, who made no noise while walking, startled Katherine, who angrily yelled, "Could you be any quieter when you enter? You nearly scared me to death!" "It seems that Maxwell was too soft on you. You still have the energy to yell at people," a sarcastic voice broke the silence—it was Leon. Startled, Katherine turned to look at him, sneering. "So, you came to enjoy my humiliation. Isn't this exactly what you wanted? I didn't expect that your love for my sister would lead you to this extent. You might have been kinder to our family because of her. But you... Choose the cruelest method." Listening, Leon laughed coldly. "The business world is like a battlefield; there's no room for mercy. Why don’t you talk about how I showed mercy to you because of your sister?" Only then did Katherine fully realize the true nature of the man before her. He was a devil—a complete devil! In his eyes, there was no mercy. She laughed at herself, turned her head to look at the ocean outside the window, and said, word by word, "In the end, you will lose everything." Leon approached step by step, his icy blue eyes tightly fixed on her. "Fine! Just watch me lose everything, but you have to be alive to do so!" Hearing this, Katherine felt as though her heart had been pierced. This man was terrifying. His overpowering aura felt like an invisible hand, tightly choking her throat, making it difficult to breathe. "Don't worry, I will live well. I will witness your downfall with my own eyes!" Katherine gritted her teeth and muttered in a low voice. The scars on her back and his humiliation reminded her of every past event. With hawk-like eyes, Leon transfixed his gaze on Katherine, moving closer step by step, his overpowering aura growing ever nearer. She seemed to realize what he was about to do, and a touch of fear flashed in her eyes. She wanted to escape,e but couldn't. Begging was out of the question, so she could only quietly await his approach. His tall and imposing figure—standing at 6'3"—made him as intimidating as a deity, capable of evoking fear in anyone's heart. Katherine's small hand tightly gripped the bedsheet, her body fiercely resisting him. Suddenly, his large palm reached for the curtains, once again immersing the bedroom into darkness. She couldn't see anything—only the scent of his presence filled the air. His cold hand rested on her shoulder as he murmured, "Compared to your sister, you fall short. Because you're not obedient... you're not as perfect as her, I can only force myself to treat you as her." Hiss... Any remaining pieces of cloth were ruthlessly torn away by Leon's hand, the chilling sensation hitting her skin. She could not resist—she could only be like a puppet, controlled and manipulated by others. His large hand gripped her wrist tightly without warning. His actions were fierce and relentless, As if he wanted to break her. The pain was pure, deep within her bones. "Ah..." Katherine's body shivered from the pain, but she refused to make a sound. It hurt so badly. Leon’s hand traced the wound on her back. It seemed as if the freshly applied medication had been wiped away, and blood began uncontrollably flowing again... Katherine seemed to have lost all her senses, Silently enduring his torment.
