By the time I changed into my swimsuit and came out, Tang Hai and Wang Song were already in the pool.
I stole a glance at them through the swirling mist.
"Niece, there are steps over here," Chen Qian called out to me.
So the two people in the other pool also looked up.
Tang Hai caught my gaze, and my face instantly turned red.
Fortunately, he seemed not to have noticed and just raised his chin at me.
I walked over to Chen Qian, and I heard Wang Song muttering quietly, "Your niece's swimsuit is too..."
I couldn't hear the rest of what he said, and I didn't know what Tang Hai did, but Wang Song kept coughing and jumping up and down, "Why did you splash water on me?"
Tang Hai said indifferently, "It was an accident."
Chen Qian noticed my attire and was also somewhat surprised: "Why did you choose this style?"
I clenched my fingers, feeling like crying but having no tears.
If I told you I just randomly grabbed a white one, would you believe me?
I really didn't realize... it was a bikini.
Fortunately, Chen Qian didn't say anything else, closed her eyes, and stopped looking at me.
I followed her lead and slowly sank into the water.
The water temperature was a bit hot, but I felt very comfortable.
Gradually, the sounds around me faded away, and fragments of strange scenes appeared in my mind, some of which had actually happened, while others seemed like dreams.
I dreamt that my mother was holding my hand and walking in the snow, one step at a time.
I wanted her to hold me, but I found out she was already holding a baby.
Then I dreamt of a strong wind blowing, and the whole family gathering downstairs.
I sat alone in the study, quietly listening to the elders giving red envelopes to the younger ones.
No one called my name, no one cared where I was.
When I was startled awake, I was the only one left in the pool, and Tang Hai was patting my shoulder, looking down at me.
I gazed at him blankly and said, "Little Uncle..."
He was only wearing swim trunks, perhaps to avoid suspicion, and had grabbed a bathrobe to drape over himself.
But the straps weren't tied tightly, and the neckline was loose, so when he leaned over to look at me, I could see everything clearly.
He still had droplets of water on his collarbone, and below that were his taut abs, and further down...
My face suddenly turned red. Fortunately, there was an excuse for the hot spring.
Tang Hai seemed not to have noticed and just reached over, his thumb wiping my eyes.
It wasn't until later that I realized I had been crying in my dream.
Tang Hai pursed his lips and didn't say anything, just telling me, "It's dangerous to fall asleep in this situation, you could suffocate."
He handed me a glass of warm water and said, "Drink it all, to replenish your fluids."
I gulped down the water and only then remembered to ask, "Where are they?"
Tang Hai said, "They went to drink."
I instinctively asked, "Then why aren't you going?"
He raised his eyebrows, looking like he wanted to smile but wasn't really smiling: "If I leave, who will take care of minors?
