Raynette’s point of view
*The Arranged Marriage*
I never thought a day would come when my parents would be called to school because of something I had done. Theo and Elizabeth could always count on me to never make trouble in school, yet there they were, sitting in the principal’s office listening to what she had to say.
I sat outside the door.
I wasn’t allowed inside the office and I could only look at them from the transparent glass while I tried to read their lips and guess what it was they were discussing. I wonder what the principal was telling my parents. She wasn’t there when everything happened. I wondered if she was solely blaming me, like some sort of criminal who just pounced on an innocent victim.
