Ruby's POV “What are you two doing? Are you two having an affair?'' I roared looking at the two in front of me, and my voice jolted them out of their actions. I was livid with anger looking at the scene, and I wondered if I was just imagining it, because how could my betrothed, and my best friend be sleeping with each other? How could that be possible? “Ruby!” Sergio, my fiance betrothed, called slipping into his clothes, and I was appalled by the sight. I was there because I got an anonymous letter stating that my best friend was having an affair with my betrothed, but I could not believe it, and that was the reason I rushed down here, but what for? To be slammed with the harsh realization of the two cheating on me. “You evil witch!” I screamed about going to attack my best friend, because I was dumbfounded, and I didn't know what to think. I charged towards her but before I could get to her I was yanked off by Sergio. “Ouch!” I winced in pain when my back collided with the wall, but what ached the most wasn't my back but my heart. My betrothed, Sergio just hurt me because of my friend, he hurt me because I caught him having an affair. That was unbelievable and ridiculous. Sergio was the son of the pack's Alpha, and our family had a marital arrangement between us two because I wouldn't get a mate because of the weight of the prophecy as a moon wolf, the only one of my kind. “Ruby, I am sorry, I don't mean to..” he was saying but I cut him off. I have already heard enough from him. “Ruby, Sergio, and I are sorry. We don't mean to hurt you..” Nicole mumbled. “Shut up, Nicole! What are you saying? We never intended for this to happen, Ruby! Trust me it was a huge mistake on my part!” Sergio pleaded guilty, but I didn't want to hear anything from him. “Nicole, you are my friend! We have been friends for so long that I could not remember, how could you do this to me!” I asked, but she didn't answer me. “How long has this been going on?” I asked. Even though I knew the question was going to hurt me, to know that the man I was betrothed to was having an affair with my friend, and it has been going on for a long time. “This is the first time!” “3 years!” They both chorused, and I was surprised by what I heard. 3 years? That was what Nicole said, and I knew that she wasn't lying. How could they do that to me? “I hate you, guys!” I roared, and I rushed out of the room thinking that Sergio was going to run after me, but I was surprised that he didn't. “Why is he not following me? Does that mean that he is not remorseful about what he did?” I mumbled, and my teeth clenched against each other anxiously as I rushed off, while the staff in the company looked weirdly. I rushed out of the building and boarded a cab because I was so hurt, and I could also feel my wolf groaning in pain at his betrayal. Even though Sergio wasn't our mate, we have loved him through the years, and we never thought that he was going to treat us like that. “Where are you going ma'am?” the cab man asked, and I was confused because I didn't want to go home where Sergio was going to find me. “Anywhere..away from here,” I said, and the man ignited his car. “Ok, then let's take you to hell,” the driver says, and I was confused about what he meant. “What!” I screamed, but I felt dizzy, and my eyes drowsy. “What..is…happening…” I trailed off as my eyes dilated slowly, and I lost my consciousness. ****************************** I felt tired and weak after regaining consciousness, and I wondered why my body was stiff. I tried to pry my eyes open, but no matter what I did I could not see anything. ‘What happened? Was I not coming back from Sergio's company earlier?’ I mulled in my head, and I tried to connect with my wolf, but she wasn't responsive and it only meant one thing. I was being tied by a silver chain. I wanted to scream, but the only sound I made was muffled. My mouth was gagged too…the person was meticulous in planning. ‘What am I going to do? How do I leave from here?’ I wondered, but an approaching footsteps stopped my actions, and I calmed myself. It might be the cab man, and he needs some money to release me. “Hi, Ruby! Did you like your new home?” I heard a familiar voice, and I was surprised. My blindfold was removed, and I wasn't shocked to see who was in front of me, it was Ruby. “Are you the one that got me kidnapped?” I asked not really believing that was what she intended, maybe I just misunderstood her. “Looks like you are not totally clueless, you could relate fast,” she beamed. “Have you lost it? How dare you get me kidnapped?” I roared, but a hot slap landed on my cheeks, and I winced in pain. I had never had a rush of memories like this before, but the slap somehow jolted my brain, and the hurt I felt when I saw the two earlier flashed through my eyes, and I concluded that my friend didn't like me. The sign has always been there. Nicole was a young she-wolf from an average family, but I have never judged her background as a friend. She always wanted the type of bags I have even though she doesn't have the means to purchase them, but I chose to ignore that, and this is where it led me. “Don't you dare berate me with that mouth, you good-for-nothing spoiled princess!” she bellowed, and I could see her emitting seething hatred towards me. “What did you want? You just want something for you to sleep with my fiance, and also kidnapped me,” I said, and she snorted. She signaled for the men to come in, and I wondered why they were holding some hideous equipment. “I am going to need your blood,” she says, and my eyes widen realizing what she was doing. The prophecy about me being the moon wolf wasn't known by many, but since Nicole was my friend, I told her. She pried more to about it, and I informed her that I could lose my power if my blood was drained but.. “Don't be foolish, Nicole! You can't be the prophesied child just..” I was saying but the man interrupted my words landing me a slap. “I want to be the prophesied child, and since you are not actually keen on that, and also lazy I should just dethrone you, I am only going to need your blood so don't panic,” she mumbled, and my eyes widened. I wanted to talk her out of it, but she slapped me again and instructed her man to start taking my blood. I watched as I was inserted, but I could not fight since I was weak. “I know you resent me best friend, but trust me that this is for the best, you should not waste your entire existence,” she beamed, and she walked closer to me. “Don't worry your man is in good hands, and I am going to make sure you are not going to be missed,” she whispered, and she walked out of the room letting me lose blood. I could feel my body getting light as the men kept draining blood out of me, but their loud drained me the most. “That is enough…I am sure that the remaining blood in her won't even keep her alive for an hour,” I heard one of the men mocked, and a tear escaped my eyes. Why is life so unfair? How could life be so unfair to me? I watched as the men walked away leaving my lifeless body on the floor to die, and I whimpered in pain begging them to save me, and when I saw that help wasn't forthcoming I decided to seek the moon goddess. “You said that I am your favorite, that's why I got chosen…then give me one more chance, let me rewrite my fate,” I begged, but my energy betrayed me, and my eyes started dilating slowly. There was no saving after all, who was I kidding, but on my deathbed, I cursed Sergio, and Nicole greatly. I heard the loud footsteps of someone rushing towards me, but I was too weak to keep up, and my eyes dilated slowly, not able to keep up. “Ruby, open your eyes!” I heard Sergio's faint voice, but I hated his voice, and even at my dying moment I hated him. I wish I didn't give my all to you, Sergio! I regretted the day that I held your hands, that was the lingering thoughts on me as I lost my consciousness. But I don't want to die!
