The blood donor

1015 Words
"Hey ... hey!" she shouts, so Mark and Christian immediately head in their direction. "Lucas!" Lucas was immediately rushed to the hospital as he lost a lot of blood due to the gunshot wound he received. Celine was already nervous about what might happen to him. She was praying that Lucas would be okay as well. Celine locked both of her hands and started to pray for Lucas's successful operation. A doctor came out, and they all stood. "How is he, doc?" Mark asked. "He needs more blood, but we don't have enough supplies," the doctor said. "So... You mean we need to find a donor for him, right?" the doctor nodded. Mark and Christian were about to walk when Celine talked. "Wait. What blood type is he?" Celine asked. "Type A," the doctor answered. Celine smiled when she found out about his blood type. "Then... Take mine instead," Mark and Christian were surprised. "Are you sure?" "Really? When you lose so much blood, you might faint," Christian said to her. "I'll be fine; take my blood," Celine said, and the doctor nodded. They both went inside the room. Celine then lay down on the bed as the nurse started to take her blood to transfer it to Lucas. He was still inside the operating room, while Celine was just outside the operating room. After taking her blood, the nurse then went inside the operating room. Celine peeked inside the operating room and saw him lying on the hospital bed with tubes in his body. She sighed as she felt pity for him, and Celine blamed herself for what happened to him. Celine then went out; Mark and Christian looked at her with a frown. "Hey, Miss? Are you okay?" Celine nodded her head. "I'm sorry," "For what?" "For what happened to him? I should have been the one who got shot. So, I'm sorry," Celine bowed her head in front of them. "It's okay. We're the ones who should be sorry. We put you into this; I'm sorry. On behalf of Lucas, we are sorry, Miss," Mark said to her. "No. It's okay. As you can see, I'm fine, but he's not. So... I'm blaming myself for what happened to him. Taking my blood isn't enough to pay for what he did earlier," Celine said to them. Celine even waited for it to end and found out that the operation was successful before she left and said goodbye to them. After two hours of waiting, the doctor who operated on Lucas came out. They immediately stood up and said, "How is he, doc?" Christian asked immediately. "He's fine and stable now. The operation is successful," they all sighed in relief on hearing that. "Also, your blood is powerful. Lucas's body accepted it immediately. So, that was a big help for him. He will recover fast," said the doctor, while looking at Celine. The doctor then leaves them. Mark and Christian looked at Celine and smiled. "Thank you," "For what?" Celine asked in confusion. "For the blood. You saved him, so... I thought you were even now," Mark said to her with a smile. The three of them chuckled and looked at her. "I guess so? Then... I have to get going now," Celine said as she bowed her head before she walked away from them. Celine walked back to Aron's apartment as she kept thinking about what happened earlier to the man who had saved her life. She sighed as she remembered her mom and dad. Celine lost her parents at the age of five in a car accident, and it seemed like it was still fresh in her mind. She continued to walk back to the apartment. As Celine arrived, she sluggishly went to her room and tossed herself in bed. She then looked at the ceiling with a sigh, "Why? Why did he save me? How can someone be careless about their own lives to save someone else?" Celine asked herself tearfully. "Mom? Dad? Did you know that someone saved me today?" she sobbed. "That man risked his life to save me again, just like you did," Celine then wept even more. "How could he do that to me? He almost lost his life just to save me. And I don't want him to be dead because of me again. If that happens, I can't forgive myself anymore." Tears continued to well up into her eyes. Celine doesn't want anyone to lose their life just because of her. She knew how painful that Celine didn't want to involve other people in her matter. Meanwhile, Aron was still on a business trip as he owned the bar where Celine works. Celine still didn't know that Aron was the actual owner of the bar. Aron was still at a beach resort with other investors and business partners. Lucas was still unconscious, as Mark and Christian called her Grandma. Glenda hurried to the hospital where he was. "Oh, God, what happened to him?" Glenda asked as she went inside the room. "Grandma, he's fine now. He's just sleeping because of the anaesthesia," Mark said to her, for her to calm down. "But, what happened to him? Why did he get shot?" she asked. Mark and Christian then looked at each other. Mark sighed and looked at Glenda. He then began to tell her everything about what happened to Lucas. "Where's that girl?" Glenda asked. "I don't know. She left after the operation. She also said that she was thankful to him," Christian said to Glenda. "We have to find that woman," she said to them. "We know where she works," Mark said. "Where?" After a minute, Glenda was already outside the bar where Celine was working. She was looking at the bar and its surroundings, disgusting her. "How could my grandson save a woman like her?" she asked while looking at the bar. Glenda wanted to meet Celine and talk to her. "Let's go back. We will find her by tomorrow," Glenda said to her driver, and they drove off the place. To be continued...
