she can't do that 22

Chapter 22 Cole POV I woke up with a fright. No, she can't just leave me like that, not again. I tried reaching out to her. I tried this time. I was going to tell her who I was, but she walked away from me and left. She said she has a chosen mate now. What the h*ll, she's not supposed to do that. She called me a damn ghost. I was dead. "Well, if you didn't play with her head so much, she wouldn't have had to get a chosen mate. You did this on your own. What are you going to do now? Cry when you go back into her dreams? You messed with her long enough. Leave her be. That was my wolf. He was too smart sometimes, and he knew it, but I just couldn't let my mate go like this. I looked at the date on the calendar. The guy had said five months, and the arena will be ready. I am not going there just to fight, I am going there to get my mate. She made it clear that she was not like the ones that had hurt me. I really messed up, didn't I?" "Yeah, you did mess up. You better hope we don't lose her to that man. Didn't you see the mark on her neck? They marked each other, but I could only smell half his scent. That means they haven't mated yet." Putting my head in my hands, I can't believe it came this far. I messed up big time. "Well, yeah, you did. What did you think she wouldn't have to do after what you put her through in those dreams?" "Shut up. I'm getting up and sending that asshole an email letting him know I will be joining the battle arena. If she is there, I will find her, and hopefully, she will forgive me." "Yeah, I doubt it, but we will see. Come on, I want to go on a run. It's been a while since you let me out." I knew he was right. I haven't let him out in months. It's time, or he will go weak and be dormant. I don't want that to happen. Kevin POV I was looking through my email when I got a new message alert. It was from one of the alphas I sent an invite to. It read, "I will be joining the battle arena with several of my pack members. Just set up a date and time, and we will be there. That's the point. I don't know what date or time. I haven't done any of this before, and my beta told me that in five months, it will be done. I was done sitting here and waiting for them to come to me to let me know it was done. I know most of the pack was dead or ran, but that's what the rogues were here for. They are here to fight beside me, well, if I give them enough money to do it. All I want is Mercury Black. When I get done with him, then I will go after his son next, then his other kids." Walking outside, I went to the place where they were building the arena. Even the rogues were helping. They still stunk. That's because I haven't had them join just yet. I wanted to make sure they went by the rules. I know they hated it, but if they wanted to join, they would have to do it. The only rules are to help build anything that needs to be built, not challenge the alpha, and no stealing in the pack. They will get plenty of food and water, so after they get done today, I will have them join. That way, they will get rid of that awful smell. I circled the place where they were building. The back of the arena was almost complete. That section is where the pack doctors will be waiting for the injured and the sick, just in case they end up getting sick once the fight is over. The other part at the back of the arena is the morgue; if a person gets killed, they will be kept there until the fighting ends. Once they start heading home, they will take their dead with them because I sure don't want them. It was looking nice; now, all they need to do is finish building the rest. I know where the seats were going to be situated. They were planned to be down on the ground with each pack having their designated seats. The arena will be a large circle. When a pack member is called to challenge, they will walk down their own steps and come out onto the battleground. They could also jump down; I don't really care as long as they come. There's even a room where they can get weapons from. I liked what I saw so far. I decided to head back inside as it was time for the workers to stop. They had been working since five this morning, and they needed rest. Most of the guys followed me. Once we were in front of the pack house, “I'm going to need to see your right hand, palm up, not down.” I told the group. For each guy, I took the blade and sliced their hand. "Alright, spill your blood onto the ground." I instructed. Then, I sliced my hand, letting the blood drip into a cup. After that, I gave the cup to the first one and told them to drink. They each took a sip, and the bond of the pack snapped in place. They were now official members of the pack, and I could hear their mindlinks. “Alright guys, soon your scent will change. Go pick a house, take a shower, and relax. This is now your home. You will have to clean your own house; no one will do it for you." I explained. I went into the pack house, hoping they wouldn't destroy it. Once the battle was over, I would make sure to get rid of them.
