Chapter 1
ANASTASIA
I used to think that there would nothing be worse than being born as a human while carrying the Alpha's blood in my veins. I used to believe nothing could be worse than being bullied and abused by my own family. I found out how wrong I was. It was supposed to be the best day of my life. It was supposed to be the day when I would be free from all the pain and suffering I had endured.
I had tears in my eyes as I carried the trays with champagne glasses on top. My fiance, the Beta of the pack, Beta George, was marking my sister in front of the whole pack. While I was serving drinks to all the guests. I tried my best not to be sad. But it was impossible. After enduring so much pain and betrayal in my life, I was forced to accept the rejection of my mate as well.
A few hours ago, I was literally dancing with joy. I was dreaming about my future with George. He was one person who never treated me wrongly. He was that one man in this whole pack who used to tend to all my wounds. I was joyous when he told me on his sixteenth birthday that I was his true mate.
My father accepted his proposal the same day. I was too young back then but I was happy. He never even raised his voice at me. Whenever I was at his place, he never asked me to clean up his house or do chores for him. He would make me sit in front of him and ask everything that bothered me. He was the angel who saved me from the cruelty of my alpha family.
But then, a few hours before my wedding, I found him in my sister's bed. My only happiness was him. And she took that away from me as well. Kaylin was my twin sister. She was born an hour before me. While I was never able to wake my wolf, she got hers on her 15th birthday somehow.
Everyone started cheering around me. When I turned to look, I could no longer hold my tears at bay. George was kissing my sister. And my heart was shattered yet again. I gasped when suddenly my older brother, Castor came from behind and pulled my hair harshly. “What the f**k are you doing, you slut? Move your f*****g ass. These guests are not gonna come to you and get the drinks.” He growled at me angrily. With each word, he pulled my hair more.
I did my best to keep my painful moans locked in my mouth. “Yes, brother. I am sorry for being lazy. I will do better.” I apologized. They had broken me the way they wanted. I was obeying their orders like a slave. He pushed me and I tried to maintain my balance. I gasped as I fell on the ground and the drinks in my hands spilled all over the ground.
“You f*****g useless piece of garbage!” My brother growled and he started kicking me in the stomach. I tried to cover myself with my arms. But I only had two arms. I couldn't only cover my head and my spine. Castor didn't stop until he heard a few cracks. He had yet again broken my ribs.
I was trying not to cry. But unlike Castor, I didn't have a wolf to heal me. Just then, a pair of heavy footsteps approached us. Goosebumps rose all over my body. Even though I didn't look at whoever had approached us, something very dark engulfed me as his shadow covered me.
I didn't dare to raise my head. “Alpha Vincent Hades… what are you doing here?” The name my brother called, froze my heart in my rib cage. I knew that name. The name of the demonic beast in the shifters kingdom. The slaughterer of his own kin.
“Tell your father, that I am here to make a deal.” He growled at my brother, who instantly fell on the ground as he was unable to bear the burden of the true power alpha Vincent held. I was wolfless but even I could feel his dark aura, forcing me to the ground. My brother started crawling and Alpha Vincent followed him.
……
Sssssss… I hissed in pain as the healer fixed my ribs back in their places.
“You should never have pissed him off.” The healer growled at me as if it was my fault. I only bowed my head quietly.
I had learned to keep my head low. But George taught me to fight. He taught me to fight for my rights. When I learned to stand up for myself, he pushed me in the pile of dirt and started laughing at me.
It hurt to even think about this whole thing. “There you are. I have been looking all over for you. Father is asking for you, right now.” My heart skipped a beat when I heard that my father was calling me. He hated me so much that he never looked at me since he found out that I was wolfless.
The healer was about to give me a shot for pain. I didn't take it. Instead, I ran to see my father. I was about to see his face after four years.
I reached his office and fell on my knees. I knew my place. I couldn't look at him. “It’s time for you to prove to me that you deserve my blood that's running in your veins. The pack is in need and you are the only one who can save us.” My heart was pounding against my rib cage in excitement. My father was asking for my help.
“Anything you want from me, my alpha. Even if it's my life, I shall not hesitate. Just you name it.” I replied to him in excitement.
“If that's the case, then I have agreed upon the terms that Alpha Vincent has placed in front of me. For the sake of the pack, you shall go and be his breeder.” my heart literally stopped for a second when I heard what he wanted from me. Despite the fear in my heart for my father, I dared to raise my gaze to his face, just to see if he was serious.
“Father, I am wolfless. Agreeing to be his breeder is nothing more than digging my own grave.” I whimpered as my heart felt the fear with just the name of that monster.
“I have made my decision.” My father replied, without even sparing a single glance at me.
Tears started flowing freely from my eyes as I felt cold. “How can you hate your own flesh and blood so much to hand her over to a demon like him? You know what he did to his mate, his own baby and his family.” I asked, hoping he would have a little mercy on me for once in my life. Instead, I received a slap from him that slammed me against the ground.
“You will do as I say. Or I will kill you myself. You have been nothing but a burden to me since you were born. I hate you for taking my mate from me. And it's your punishment for being born.” With those harsh words, he walked away, leaving me in tears and pain. I never would have thought, he would get back at me for being born.
