I had already taken three busses after the first one. I didn't know where I was going but I knew I had to be as far as possible from my pack. Like I said Goddess was waiting for me to take a leap of faith. It had started raining right after the first bus. The rain would make it impossible for them to track me down. It was heavy and by now it had washed away my scent.
"We're going to make it little one. Mama is going to take care of you. She will protect you." I whisper as I sat down on the train station. I didn't know where I was or was going but I didn't care. I felt so free now. The heavy burden had lifted away. When I catch this train I will get off from what ever stop feels comfortable. The train soon arrived in a few minutes. I went in not forgetting my little bag.
I looked out the window for most of the time. I kept checking where I could get off. I then decided to get off when it stopped at a small town. It was peaceful and quiet since everyone was asleep. The rain was only showering in this part of the town.
I had practically gone rogue but I didn't care. As long as me and my baby we were still safe that's all I cared about. I finally noticed an Inn and ran towards it. It was still open and a young lady sits on the front desk.
"Afternoon," I greeted. The lady was human, I sensed. She looked beautiful with her chocolate hair, smooth skin and full pink lips.
"Afternoon. How can I help you?" She asked.
" I would like a room, please." I respond.
"Are you alone?" She asked again.
"Yes?" I look at her confused.
"Mhhm, you look young," she noted.
"I know. But please I really need a room." I pleaded.
" What's your name? " She asked.
"Sam. Sam Gilbert." I replied.
"Well Sam... Can I see some ID?"
"I don't have any ID with me, But?"
" Look, for what I know you could be underaged. I need proof before I can allow you to stay ?"
" Please lady. Only for today. I promise I'll be gone by tomorrow. I have the money." I tried to convince her but she only shook her head.
"Rules are rules. I can't allow you to stay or I'll get in trouble with the management. If they find you here, I'm going to be in trouble." The lady explained.
" But I'll be gone by tomorrow morning. I just need a place to sleep. I can't sleep outside, it's raining." I cried but she didn't seem she was ever going to change her mind.
"Like I said it's against the rules. There's nothing I can do to help you. I don't even know who you're," she said.
" But..."
" Hey? Are you really looking for a place to stay?" I heard another voice behind me. " They are not going to help here if you're not rich. I'm Lana and what's your name."
"I'm Sam."
" What are you doing here Lana?" The lady asked furiously.
" Mind your own business Diana," Lana responded. Only then I had recognize the name tag she had on her jacket with her name.
" Well Sam. I could really use a roomie. The rent can be a little overwhelming from time to time. And my last roommate left to live with her boyfriend." She rolled her eyes. " I live down the street. I can show you the place if you like." She offered.
" Please thank you!" I agreed excited.
" Well follow me." She ordered and I did so. " I didn't know weres came to this part of town." She added as we left the small hotel.
" Pardon me?"
"Werewolves." She whispers.
" Ohh. It's quite a long story," I responded. Well I had also noticed one thing about her. She was a werewolf too, which easily made me trust her.
"I guess you can tell me over dinner. I got quite a lot of time in my hands," she says. I nodded.
" Thank you for helping me out," I said.
"Well we're the same. We both have to stick out for each other. Plus I can tell you're new here," she says.
"I'm pretty much new to everything outside my pack," I say.
" Packs are the worst," she sneered.
" Left yours too?"
"They say a pack is supposed to be your family and blah blah blah. Mine was nothing but."
"I can't say I don't relate to that. Full of cruel and selfish savages," I say, which she agreed. Me and Lana we walked a few minutes before arriving at her place. It was way better than I had expected. The house had a living room, a kitchen, two bedrooms, showers, it had everything.
"I ordered us some pizza. Want something to drink?" She tossed me a can of beer before opening and chugging down hers.
"Uhh-no thanks." I smiled giving it back.
" C'mon you're free now. No one can tell you s**t," she says.
" No I can't." She looks at me confused and I slightly glanced at my stomach before realization hit her.
"Ohh! I'm so sorry about that. I didn't know you're expecting a cute little thing." She smiled poking my stomach. " I'm sure you're going to make a wonderful mother." She proceeded." You must think I'm a dork now."
" No it's fine..."
" How many weeks?" She asked not even letting me finish my words.
" Two weeks?" I replied with a long face. Well those two weeks were the worst weeks of my f****d up life.
"I can't wait to see that little bump. It's gonna be so cute. We're so going to have a great time." She poked my stomach again. I also chuckled. I have to agree Lana was a fun person to be around. Our order finally came and that was a start of a new friendship. She told me how she was kicked out of her pack because she was an omega. I too told her my sad story and she's the only person who sympathized with me since my mother.
I don't know why I hadn't done this earlier. I'm free now. I could breathe now. Me and my baby had a place to stay and live freely.
