Chapter 11

Every day George became more insistent in his attempts to win Ashley's attention. He didn't seem to notice her cold attitude and obvious unwillingness to get close. His behavior became increasingly intrusive, and Ashley felt more and more clearly that she was in the middle of a dangerous game, the rules of which she did not know.

George started showing up in the parts of the palace that Ashley often visited. He made unexpected encounters, as if by chance bumping into her in the corridors or gardens.
