He pulled out his phone and contacted someone.
"Hey, Sam. Yeah, it's me. Have my plane ready within fifteen minutes. Thanks, appreciate it."
He hung up, walked back to Lang Cheng, and sat down.
"I'm giving you a chance. Fifteen minutes. Find what I need and give it to me." His gaze turned ruthless. "Don't make me take you on plane with me."
Lang Cheng's hands went weak.
The youngest young master of the Fang family, ranked eleventh—compared to his terrifying brothers and sisters who doted on him, he didn't seem that threatening.
But his driving skills were legendary among their circle.
Years ago, a young lady wanted a ride in his car. He said nothing, just took her for a spin. After that, whenever she saw him drive by, she'd have a conditioned reflex—motion sickness.
That was just an ordinary luxury car. Today, Yuan Xing was talking about taking him on his plane, which he'd pilot himself...
That wasn't a flight—it was torture! He suspected he might board vertically and disembark horizontally.
His own life mattered more than anything else!
Lang Cheng backed down instantly. "Wait, wait, I'll find it..."
"Photos, videos, chat screenshots. Not one missing." Yuan Xing returned to his seat, lounging casually.
When Tan Mo woke up, her eyes were covered.
She knew she'd been kidn*pped, so she kept silent.
She wanted to listen in on the kidnappers first, so she concentrated, eavesdropping on their phones.
"You've got the person?" The voice on the other end was refined ,different from those kidnappers.
This was probably the mastermind behind the k********g.
The driver boss was on the other end. "Yeah, we got him. But there's an extra person. Not sure how to handle her."
The iron door creaked open, followed by approaching footsteps. Tan Mo pretended to be unconscious.
The cloth over her eyes was removed. Tan Mo felt tense.
"Second Miss of the Tan family?"
"The Tan family?" The boss's breath caught.
Luckily, he'd kept those idiots from touching her. If they had, and that old man Tan found out, he'd dig up their ancestors' graves.
"Whatever you decide to do with her later, don't touch her for now. Our target is the Ye family. Understood?" The mastermind instructed.
Old Master Tan's reputation was quite useful—at least her life was safe for the moment.
Her eyes were covered again. Footsteps retreated, the door closed. Tan Mo breathed a sigh of relief.
Just then, the Ye family younger in the room woke up. With his eyes covered, he panicked. "Ugh, where is this?"
"Awake?" Hearing the commotion, several kidnappers entered.
"Awake? Then come say a few words to your family." The boss held the phone to his mouth and pinched him hard.
The Ye boy screamed, and on the other end, his grandmother's heart nearly broke.
"Don't hurt my precious boy! I'll give you whatever you want..."
"That's it. If you want your grandson safe, five million. Understand?" The boss kicked him and left with his men.
When Ye Ka fell, he wasn't seriously hurt—it seemed he'd landed on something soft.
Then the soft cushion underneath grunted.
Tan Mo was jostled by the suddenly colliding boy. Her hand seemed to touch something sharp, cutting her skin.
"There's someone else?" Ye Ka turned his head behind him.
His eyes were also covered; he could only guess the general direction.
"Mm. Hello, I'm Tan Mo." She remained relatively calm, not like Ye Ka's panic.
Hearing a same ages voice nearby, he calmed down a bit. "I'm Ye Ka."
"The Ye family from Rancheng City. " Tan Mo answered for him.
Old Master Tan had been worried she wouldn't understand Jiangqi's richer circles, so he'd special explained.
The elderly couple of the Ye family from Rancheng had moved here to retire, bringing along their youngest grandson, Ye Ka.
"How does your grandfather know? You're Tan... Ah, you're that Tan family's second young miss who was in the accident!" Ye Ka suddenly understood.
Good deeds never leave the doorstep; bad deeds travel a thousand miles.
Tan Mo silently sat up and felt for the protrusion that had cut her hand.
If she wanted to escape, she'd first need to cut the ropes binding her.
The two were locked in an abandoned factory. The boss walked to the window and asked his currency about the situation outside.
"Don't worry, boss. No one comes to this abandoned tin shack. Besides, we have Chi Dong and Niu Bao inside, and eight men guarding outside. Who could escape?"
"True." The boss was confident. "We'll wait here. Transfer to another place later."
That tough girl who'd chased them on the bike during the k********g must have seen their license plate. If the cops tracked them, those with records would be eating prison food.
The room where they were held was well soundproofed.
The two guards inside didn't notice anything amiss. They assumed nothing major would happen.
Tan Mo nervously rubbed the rope against her arm, maxing out her senses.
The moment those bandits contacted the outside world, she'd know immediately.
"Once they get the ransom, they won't kill me, right? Like in those novels." Ye Ka babbled nervously in her ear.
"Quiet!" Tan Mo snapped.
The more danger you're in, the calmer you need to be.
"Relax. Someone will come for us." Her mind was clear.
If Huaisheng noticed she was missing, she'd look for her immediately. Once she confirmed she was gone, she'd call the police.
She didn't know how long she'd been unconscious, but she knew it was enough time for Huaisheng to find help.
"Easy for you to say." Ye Ka was still panicking.
He hadn't even turned eighteen yet. His best years were ahead—how could they end like this?
"Keep quiet," Tan Mo snapped, her head throbbing from his incessant muttering. She had to find a way to calm him down first. "Someone will come for us within an hour."
"You're that sure?" Ye Ka didn't believe her at all.
Tan Mo said confidently, "If I'm wrong, I'll call you big brother."
Ye Ka paused for a moment. He'd never been a big brother before—having a beautiful girl call him that might actually be pretty nice.
"Then I'm starting the countdown." He finally quieted down and began counting seconds.
Tan Mo continued rubbing the rope against her arm.
Outside the industrial zone where the factory was located, two people had arrived.
Huaisheng jumped off the back of Yuan Xing's motorcycle and looked toward the abandoned factory, following the GPS.
"They're in the northeast corner of the factory. I'll go in through the main entrance and stretch my legs a bit. You go straight to where they're holding the hostages." She cracked her wrists.
Yuan Xing sighed helplessly. "Yes, ma'am."
He had a feeling those thugs were done for today.
Watching Huaisheng enter through the main gate alone, he roughly scoped out the environment, found a water pipe, and climbed up nimbly.
Then with a light leap, he passed through a wall opening and landed on the factory's second floor.
The sound of boots hitting the iron floor alerted the two thugs guarding the area.
"Who are you? How did you get up here?!"
