Chapter 1
“Lets go” sarah sighed as she grabbed our bags from the office, quickly pulling my hair from a tight ponytail and letting my long blond hair fall around my shoulders in soft curls, “i’ll see you tomorrow love” grabbing the keys from my bag i locked the door behind me, sarah already pulling out of the car park in her blue truck waving and blowing kisses.
Sarah was my best friend and my manager at a very popular coffee shop, we met the day i turned 18 and had moved to the city to go to university, i sat on the train with all my possessions in a small rucksack at my feet. The train filled up quickly and i was starting to sweat, my eyes darting around looking for an escape when a tall girl with a willowy figure the polar opposite of my 5 foot and slightly chubby frame sat down on the seat beside mine, she turned and smiled at me, “are you starting uni next week too?” she asked excitedly “yes” i replied timidly, sarah never seemed to mind my introverted ways, her doe like eyes widened as she started squeeking about what classes she planned to take and suddenly i felt like everything would be okay. we have been inseparable ever since.
Sarah and i didn’t share any classes, i was interested in healthcare whereas Sarah wanted to become a boss babe. When classes started i would sit alone with my head down, trying to avoid drawing attention to myself. After a few weeks a tall lanky guy around my age dropped into the seat besides mine, with an easy lopsided smile, he didn’t speak to me that first day so i was shocked when the next day he was there before me, sitting in the same seat with two coffee cups in front of him, “im Matt” the boy told me handing me a coffee cup, “melody” i replied with a smile accepting the coffee, taking a sip my eyes widened as i tasted the syrupy sweetness of vanilla in my coffee, “you order the same drink everyday” matt hurriedly explained when he saw my startled expression, “not that i’ve been stalking you, we share a lot of the same lectures, i’ve seen you in the coffee shop a few times now but never had the balls to introduce myself”.
I was skeptical to form a relationship with him at first but Matt turned up everyday; always with my favourite coffee in hand, one day when we left the lecture hall Matt grabbed my hand and pulled me into him, stealing my first kiss with a soft press of his lips against mine “i’ve been wanting to do that since the first day i saw you” Matt whispered breathlessly. He was so charming and romantic it didn’t take me long to fall head over heels for him.
We coudn’t get enough of each other, couldn’t keep our hands off each other. Matt loved a good party and would drag me along, filling my glass with cheap alcohol and grinding against me on the dance floor, we would stumble out of the club at closing and fall into a taxi, heading back to the student dorms where our night would finish with our hot sweaty bodies twisted in the sheets.
