The Bond Breaker
Sophia screamed as pain shot through her chest. It felt like her heart was being ripped in half. Her knees hit the ground hard, and she clutched her chest, gasping for air.
The crystal in Lucien’s hand glowed brighter with each word he spoke. His voice was deep, steady, and filled with dark magic.
“You can’t run from destiny, Sophia,” Lucien said calmly. “Marcus cannot protect you forever. Your bond to him is breaking, and soon, you’ll belong to me.”
“No!” Sophia shouted, trying to crawl away, but the flames around her were like a burning cage.
She felt weak. The bond to Marcus—it was the only thing that gave her strength during the full moon, the only thing that helped her control the wolf inside her. Now it was slipping away.
