I'm not going to feel guilty because she took the bait; I'm glad to have her here.
She is beautiful. As we move slowly through the theater, following the crowd toward the stairs, I fully understand why Moonsdowne wanted her for his Luna. I suspect it has little to do with the dowry she brought to the arrangement, even if the Alpha was in desperate need of funds. It's her regal poise, the grace with which she moves, the way she holds herself with pride even as people turn away from her.
It's fascinating to watch those around us striving to give her a cut direct while not offending me when I'm standing so near to her. I halfway wish she, rather than her sister, is on my arm, as it would communicate loudly that she is under my protection. I wish I'd arranged for close friends to a
