Such an innocuous name for the sort of wicked amusements I suspect are housed in a place on the outskirts of the city. Although I see no one else about, it's obviously open to customers at this time of night. I imagine peep shows, orgies, decadence, and other sinful activities. Rexton’s secrets: he probably dabbles in the pornographic.

I should emphatically state ‘No!’ I should return to the carriage, make it clear I don’t approve of such debauchery. But my curiosity gets the better of me. I have heard whispers about these places, and overheard Downie speaking with his friends about them.
