Anton POV
I could hear whimpering as I slept. I was starting to wake up when the whimpering got louder. I groggily opened my eyes and focused them on where the whimpering was coming from. I saw my frail little mate curled up in a ball trembling as she continued to whimper. I sat up and scooped her into my arms, making her flinch even in her sleep.
I hugged her trembling body close to my chest as I rested her in my lap, and began rocking my body back and forth. After a few minutes, her body relaxed, then I felt her fingers trace across my collarbone. I stopped rocking her and looked down to see her smiling up at me. She reached her hand up to cup my cheek before she whispered, "Thank you."
"For what?" I asked feeling a bit confused.
