Chapter 5
Brian was in the solarium with Sir K when Conley arrived at the house the following morning. He wouldn’t have known he was there if Sir K hadn’t begun screaming “Con here, Con here.”
“Indeed I am, oh noisy one,” Conley said from the doorway.
“Not noisy.”
“Yeah, you are.” Conley crossed to where Brian stood with the macaw on his shoulder. He had one hand covering his ear closest to the bird.
“Now that I’m effectively deaf, do you have any objections to my strangling him?” Brian asked as Sir K hopped to Conley’s shoulder.
“Believe me, I’ve been tempted a time or two,” Conley replied, scratching the macaw’s head.
“No. No. No!” Sir K squawked.
“He shouldn’t strangle you?” Conley asked, looking amused.
