Chapter Twenty.
Closing my eyes, I awaited my death, I was unable to regret the choices I had made, even though they had led me here. I knew the risks, and still went with my heart and bond, if I die, so be it.
I heard a shot, but the bullet missed me, obviously deliberately then I heard his voice “Run to the clearing Lizzy” he said, and I obeyed, I ran, using my wolf senses to find the way sniffing the ground as I went to pick up our scent which would lead me through the forest to the clearing by the river.
