As we headed back inside the ballroom, I headed to the bar. I needed a drink and I need to focus on this assignment. The fact that Briggs brought Zane here as my partner, has thrown everything off. I wanted to tell him about Jaxon, but I couldn’t, at least not yet and not here while working. I called and checked in with Cami.
“Ari? How’s work?”
“Work is…,” I paused. “A little complicated.” I took my shot of tequila. “Zane’s here annnnnnnndddd he saw me.”
“What the hell?” She gasped. “What happened?”
I told her what happened and how angry he was.
“Does he know about Jaxon?” She asked.
“No.”
“Ari!” She shouted. “He has a right to know.”
“I know and I am going to tell him. Just not here while we’re both working together. How’s Jaxon?”
Cami sighed.
