Shane’s POV
After discussing our plan, I headed towards our bedroom. I was halfway there when I heard a terrifying scream echoing around the halls. The scream made me stand still for a second as a chill run down my spine. I quickly snapped out of it and ran towards the door when I noticed that the guards I had placed in front of the room had made their way inside just before I had arrived. I ran past them and found my mate sitting up in our bed, panting and sweating. I didn’t even know that I held my breath until I released it. A nightmare. It was only a nightmare.
I turned towards the guards while running my hand through my hair.
“Thank you, you may go back to your positions,” I said while trying to calm down my breathing.
“Yes alpha,” they said as they bowed before leaving.
