I walked back to the table. “An officer took Alice back to the order.” I said before sitting down.
“I wonder if they know about the collective.” Zander said.
Jezebeth seemed calm even though the order was pretty close to finding her. If we were around everyone then she would have been seen and maybe taken back to the order by force. “I’m surprised she went nearly the whole school year without them noticing.”
“Ugh.” Julie groaned. “I don’t want to go another summer without my mom.” She looked up. “Did you guys get anything before the officer came for her?” It did seem like Julie was more interested in finding her mom than anything Alice was going through.
I nodded. “I think we got all we needed.” I was worried about Alice but I needed to keep a clear head and tell them what I found out.
