Chapter 10 He hadn’t expected to be standing outside Emma’s door at four-thirty in the morning. But after five hours of prowling through Chicago’s streets and three unsatisfying kills, Gideon knew only one thing. Things couldn’t go on like this. Jesse was miserable. Emma was being stubborn—and probably miserable, too. And Gideon was tired of both of them not saying what they were feeling.
