Chapter 6
“I’ve liked everything you’ve cooked, so I don’t mind what you make,” had been all Barry had gotten out of Jimmy the first few times he’d asked the cowboy for birthday menu suggestions.
But this was his thirtieth birthday, the first birthday dinner Barry was cooking for him and Barry needed to know what Jimmy really wanted. So the Thursday before the big day, Barry and Rex went for a walk, their destination the lower forty acres where Liam had said Jimmy was fixing a blocked drainage pipe or something equally as disgusting.
Coming over a rise, Barry spotted the familiar blue of Jimmy’s shirt. The color thing did have its uses.
“Muddy and sweaty cowboy, my favorite kind,” Barry said as he approached Jimmy from behind.
