Chapter 4When Rachel emerged into the hallway of the museum, no one else was around. Rachel looked down one hallway, saw nothing but darkness, and the same for the other. A bathroom was in front of her, but she was convinced that Kendra was not there. Unsure what to do next, she turned the remote on yet again. She cranked it to one, two, three before she heard a shuddering breath.
“You have to give me more time,” Kendra said. “Some recovery period is necessary.”
Rachel smiled as she heard the voice from her left. She followed the sound to the darkness of a display room, complete with planet models. Only the showcase lights were on, and they illuminated Kendra’s face.
