Axel did not say much else after that and let her leave. It made Lilith wonder whether he would have told her the truth if she had told him that she had trusted him but it was too late to bother contemplating all that.
"Hey Summer," she said the moment her roommate picked up her phone. "Can you do me a favour?"
"Anything," Summer responded almost immediately.
Her answer caught Lilith off guard and made her question the whole concept of trust again. Summer knew very well what Lilith's true identity was yet she was always so trusting and fearless with her.
