It seemed like years since Lacy had been out as a single woman. Indeed, it had been at least two since the night she’d found the hunk Chase McMillan eyeing her in the Whiskeytown Tavern. For a while it seemed that Chase was all she wanted in a man, but then things had changed. Chase was probably right, that the change began when Travis Wills showed up. But now Chase was gone, and her bizarre relationship with Travis was turning into a real drag. As much as she might pine for him in a weak moment, they were both keeping their distance from the other. Neither one wanted a repeat of their last nasty battle.
