JUST as everyone was quietly frozen in place, Lucas arrived with Mindy. Mindy handed me a glass of water. My hands were shaking, so the young master took it for me. When Lucas saw me, he stood in front of me and said, “What happened? Did anyone hurt you?”
The young master answered on my behalf and said, “My sister’s scumbag husband tried to r**e her.”
Lucas looked furious as he turned around and said, “He did what?”
He was going to walk towards Mr. Tyrone when I held his arm and said, “Don’t.”
This calmed Lucas down a bit. Seeing Mr. Tyrone’s beaten up face must have helped calm him down too.
Miss Caroline looked so annoyed as she said, “Let’s not jump to conclusions. How do we know that maid is telling the truth?”
