My men and I moved through the thick forest. We were all determined—no, desperate—to find Catherine.
At first, I had taken her disappearance lightly. I had sent a few men to search for her when I first heard the news. I assumed she was just needed time away from the world, maybe to think things through. I knew how much she loved her quiet spaces. I thought she just needed some time.
But now? Now I knew what had really happened, and I would not rest until I brought her back.
