"Run, Heather. Run!" Miranda, Heather’s mom, cried out to her right before turning into a wolf.
The teen's tears streamed down her cheek as she watched her mom fight, alone, three rogues; her dad already dead, along with the alpha, and most of the other pack members. And since she was but a newborn wolf, and had almost zero training, Heather was afraid to go to her mother's help – she was sure she would only get in the way.
She, therefore, did the only thing she could do - she grabbed her little sister Lilly and ran out of her home, her pack, her town.
