“We got all the maiden names. I was named for Dad’s Mom: Christina Cameron, Benny for Mom’s Mom, Anne Bennett, and Lori for Mom, Emily Loring. I probably should have been a Loring or a Bennett instead of a Cameron but they didn’t know if I’d be a boy or a girl and Gramma Chris wanted to have everything monogrammed, so they chose Cameron, either gender. From what I know, though, the women on Mom’s side of the family have been real strong, independent women. Gramma Anne was a Wellesley graduate, 1918. She was a suffragette. I guess Mom and I got the political gene from her. Lori’s not like that. She’s more like Gramma Chris, a real homebody.
