Slowly people started to make their way over to the dancefloor after Lee-Anne and Justin opened the floor with their first dance. I watched their parents take the floor and then stood up from my chair when no one else started to dance. Alex stared at me with a frown. It slowly dissolved into a smile when I held my hand out to her.
“Care to join me for a dance?” I asked.
Her smile almost became cheeky. “You are probably going to have a laugh but I’ve waited for this moment my whole life.” She confessed, accepting my request. She stood up, kicked off her heels and joined me for a dance.
I rested my hand on her hip and pulled her closer. I guided her across the floor, making sure not to step on any of her toes. She stayed in sync with me, her hips swaying to the tempo of the song and had a
