Ch 5 The Grave

Lady Boss Luxury cars worth millions were lined outside the cemetery gates like silent beasts waiting for a command. Their polished black surfaces reflected the gray sky above. This was not an ordinary funeral. This was territory control. At the far end of the cemetery, men in white suits stood in formation. Not mourners or relatives. Every one of them carried concealed weapons. Every one of them would die without hesitation if ordered. And in the center of that frozen battlefield stood a beautiful woman. Lady Boss. She wore a red palazzo pant and a perfectly tailored red suit. The color of blood. The color of warning. Purple sunglasses rested on her sharp nose bridge. Her black curly short hair moved slightly with the wind, but her body didn’t. She didn’t move unless she wanted the world to shift. Her cold aura swallowed the air around her. Even the birds had stopped making noise. Secretary Aiden stood beside her, holding an umbrella over her head with both hands. His posture was stiff, as if even breathing too loudly might cost him his life. Two elite bodyguards stood on either side of her. The entire cemetery had fallen under her command the moment she stepped inside. No one dared to look into her eyes. No one dared to speak without permission. She stared at the cracked tombstones and unpolished marble around her. “What a poor cemetery. Was this the only cemetery he found?” She muttered coldly. Her voice was low, but every man within twenty meters heard it. A man in a blue suit stepped closer and whispered, “Lady Boss, we confirm that the evil woman is dead. I have full proof too.” Before he could step back she grabbed his neck. “La—Lady…” he gasped as her grip tightened. Her black eyes turned darker. “Dead or not! You have no right to call her in a derogatory manner. Call her Lady Hunter. If I hear you call her an evil woman again, I’ll chop your tongue. Get this into your peanut-sized brain.” Her voice did not rise. It didn’t need to. “Yes… Lady… I won’t speak disrespectfully about Lady Hunter. I’m sorry, Lady Boss. Please forgive me…” the man choked weakly. She released him. The man fell on the ground. “Annoying,” she murmured, wiping her hand slowly with a white handkerchief before throwing it onto the ground like trash. Everyone swallowed. They knew Lady Boss allowed no one to disrespect Lady Hunter. Not even in death. “Show me her grave,” Lady Boss ordered calmly. “This way, Lady Boss,” a guard replied, pointing toward the stone path. She walked forward with controlled elegance. The other guard quickly helped the choked man stand. “Don’t you know Lady Boss never allows anyone to disrespect Lady Hunter?” one guard whispered harshly. “If anyone dares, he dies the next second. You’re lucky her mind is a mess right now.” “But they are enemies. Why does Lady Boss care for Lady Hunter?” the man asked, rubbing his bruised neck. “They are more than enemies,” the second guard said. “They had a love and hate relationship. They fought each other to see who was greater. But Lady Hunter always won.” He paused for a second. “But this time… Lady Hunter’s death made Lady Boss crazy. She doesn’t believe it. That’s why she’s here. To confirm it herself. And remember this if Lady Hunter is dead, no one is allowed to speak against her.” The guard straightened. “Now move. Lady Boss doesn’t wait.” He said as he followed her. Lady Boss stopped before a grave. She slowly removed her sunglasses. The temperature around her seemed to drop. “This is the grave, Lady Boss,” the guard said carefully. The photo on the gravestone showed a beautiful woman. Lady Hunter. The undefeated legend of the underground world. The only person who could stand eye-to-eye with Lady Boss. Lady Boss knelt. Her fingers brushed the cold stone. Her black eyes held something terrifying not grief, but denial. “I don’t believe you die before I kill you,” she said coldly. A file was handed to her. “Here is the report, Lady Boss.” She stood and flipped it open, scanning every detail like a strategist reviewing war casualties. “Open the grave,” she ordered. “But Lady Boss, it is disrespectful to the dead,” a guard said nervously. “Just do as my dear says. Don’t stress her more. Her beauty will be affected,” a playful voice interrupted. Everyone turned. “Young Master Eric!!” They bowed instantly. Eric stood there in a perfectly fitted black coat, smiling like he was attending a gala instead of an exhumation. Tall. Handsome. Dangerous in a different way. “Why are you here? Lost puppy return home?” Lady Boss mocked without looking at him. “I heard you were desperately trying to find your first lover. So I’m here to help,” Eric chuckled softly. “But it looks like your lover already died.” “Who says she is dead?” Lady Boss pressed the file against his chest. Eric scanned the report. “Oh… shot in the heart. Who dares to do this? Did your men do it?” “Did you think they had the guts?” she replied calmly. “Then who?” Eeic asked curiously. “Last time I got a report that someone attacked her mansion. She escaped. But in the middle of it, she got shot. It's a very simple story. I'm not buying into it." Lady Boss frowned. Eric’s smile faded slightly. “Then it must be HIM. He was after her position. But that’s against the rules.” Eric said calmly. “I don’t have solid proof,” Lady Boss said. “Help me confirm it. I’ll punish him for breaking the rules.” “Chill out, baby,” Eric said lightly, patting her shoulder. “Leave it to me.” Her eyes narrowed at the word baby. But she didn’t stop him. “Lady Boss, the coffin is out,” a man announced. “Open it,” she commanded. Workers hesitated but obeyed. The coffin lid lifted halfway. Lady Boss and Eric stepped forward. Inside lay a beautiful woman in a white dress. Perfect pure skin with no make-up. Peace on face. It was Lady Hunter's body. White dress. Eric sighed. “It’s really her. What a waste. Such a beautiful body lying in a coffin.” Lady Boss’s eyes scanned the corpse with surgical precision. Her mind was not emotional. It was calculating. “Take this body for postmortem.” She commands. “Are you sure?” Eric asked. “It’s better to be sure. Her face is the same. But her body looks different.” She put her sunglasses back on. The underworld Queen had spoken. “But....” The guard tried to say. “Just do as she wants,” Eric said seriously before walking away with her. The men moved quickly. No one dared question further. As the convoy began to leave, a figure stood hidden in the shadows behind a tall stone angel. He watched everything. He slowly pulled out his phone. And made a call. "Lady Boss is making a move, boss." He whispers in a low tone.
