Chapter 24 – Coming to terms with it

POV
I order for the clean-up crew to take the body away and I search for Kristen… I saw her walking into the love fountain. The theme of the garden was inspired by the love my parents shared.
All the flowers growing here has something to do with love. I spot Kristen sitting on the edge of the fountain watching the water.
"Kristen..." I whisper to get her attention
She stills for a second before she turns to me, her eyes are red, her cheeks are wet, and her smile is strained. This wasn’t Kristen something was wrong. Did me killing someone affect her this much? Did she hate me again? God, I hope not.
"Hey. What's wrong?" I ask her reaching for her. When she freezes, I let my hand drop to my side.
