It's been three days since Ember's dad left the message on our doorstep. She hasn't been the same since. She is back to hiding in her room only now, not even Angie can go inside. She is pushing us all away. I am trying hard not to get angry at her, but it's getting hard. I feel like she doesn't trust me. She doesn't trust that I can keep her safe. She thinks I'm weak. I push up off the sofa and start walking up the stairs taking them two at a time. I have to see her. I need to see her now and tell her she will not push me away.
I have no intention in knocking on the door. I reached for the door knob and I realize that it's locked.
" Ember you have three seconds to open the door"
