I had been looking for Evanne and Ike ever since his sister told me something was wrong. There had been no sign of them, not even a scent trail, for more than an hour. I was beginning to feel helpless. I had contacted my father the minute I knew something was off. He requested me to keep searching and that he would come out shortly.
I didn't like how nonchalant he seemed about this whole ordeal—my mate. My mate, who doesn't even know she is mine yet, is missing. I had just found her! How could I lose her so quickly? My mind was filled with fear and insecurity as I ran up and down the road. I went into the forest nearby, I even ran to town. Still no sign. I was about to give up when I heard through the mind link.
