Bob-Gunnar lived in what we had always called the Mayor’s Digs growing up; a sprawling Victorian folly that crowned what amounted to a riverside park on the edge of town. The house had been in the McHardy family for generations, well past the time that the town had wised up and stopped entrusting the family with things like running the city government, but had been a vacant pile for the entirety of my tenure in the town.
