"Jo…seph?" Ryu whispered. He reached out to touch Joseph’s face and he whimpered when he felt Joseph soft and warm cheek under his fingertips.
Joseph raised his hand and held tightly onto the other’s hand that was caressing his face. “It’s me, Joseph. I’m alive.”
Ryu pulled the hand that was holding onto his hard, pulling Joseph into his laps and wrapped him in his arms tightly as he sobbed on Joseph’s shoulder.
Joseph rested his cheeks onto of Ryu’s head, his own tears threatening to fall.
“I’m sorry.” He whispered. “I’m so so sorry that you have to see that but it’s the only way. The only way to let me escape without the King being suspicious.” Joseph kissed Ryu’s temple. “I’m so sorry, love.”
