I threw my bag to the side and pulled my shirts from my pants, checking my phone for any messages. The office I worked so hard for became a battlefield all over again, the place I made sure to be a space where I don’t have to prove myself once more but thanks to screwing up a case by being incompetent to handle the obnoxious playboy.
I got the door when there was a knock. I didn’t expect anybody to visit since Kurt took over my case. My baby sister stood in front of me with a takeout bag.
“Checking up on me now?” I asked my sister who showed up at my house with lunch.
“You have been ignoring my calls,” She stated, making her way into my small apartment.
“Sorry, bad day,” I muttered, looking through the bag, sniffing out what Chris got us to eat.
