Chapter 10: Without Warning
The peaceful night gave way to daybreak and a fresh morning dew coated the scenic countryside. The warm rays of the rising sun struck Maya’s arm as it dangled from the edge of the bed. A slight pressure against the bed roused her, groaning with a quick yawn. Maya awoke to the sight of her sister smiling mere inches from her face.
“Good morning, sis!” Kaya exclaimed.
“Are you serious, Kaya? How can you be so perky this early in the morning?” Maya replied, burying her head beneath her sheets.
“I didn’t know you still talked in your sleep, sis?”
