CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR
They reached Les Grands Magasins, the area that boasted three of Paris’s most historic shopping malls. But of course, they were malls with a twist, a very French twist. From the electric atmosphere to the luxurious products, the breathtaking architecture to the sense of history, being here felt to Keira just as spectacular as visiting any of the famous monuments.
They strolled first through Le Bon Marché, marvelling at the criss-crossed escalator design and the incredible geometric yellow and black glass ceiling, which was made all the more impressive by the fact it was over 150 years old. In its La Grande Epicerie, they sampled many different culinary products from all over the world.
